What Your Donation Does
Kids in Focus serves vulnerable youth year-round through a variety of programs and keeps kids involved for several years. Relationships are formed and trust is built as the kids spend over 4,000 hours with volunteer mentors each year. The kids’ eyes are opened to their own potential as they experience life-changing improvements in behavior, attitude, and self-confidence.
$800 — Sends 10 kids to a Saturday workshop
Ten kids will spend a day surrounded by caring mentors and immersed in a new exciting environment, taking them out of stressful surroundings and allowing them to experience authentic, confident, playful versions of themselves.
$400 — Provides youth participation in the Grads in Focus program for an entire year
A student will stay focused and maintain a sense of belonging year-round. The youth will rejoin the mentors and fellow students on quarterly team-building outings and also stays connected weekly on a photo-sharing forum, earning incentive prizes through monthly photo challenges.
$200 — Sends a child to a two-day summer camp
The child will enjoy an overnight camp experience while exploring the beautiful campgrounds with the mentors. Your gift will provide lodging, meals, a celebration of the kids’ work, and the chance to discover nature… and themselves.
$100 — Gives a child a new camera to keep
A camera is a transformative tool that encourages children who’ve experienced trauma to get outside and explore, to express themselves in healthy ways, and to discover the beauty in the world…instilling curiosity and confidence while helping to switch the light in their eyes back on.
